Wildcards in transaction sm37

Hi all,

i need some help with the transaction sm37

I know that i can use the * for zero or more unknown characters. That's working as the % in Oracle and other databases.
But i want something like the _ from Oracle, for exact 1 unknown character.
If i understand correctly the oss-note 331151, then that isn't available anymore.
Is there any other solution for this ?
regards
Kay

The wildcard characters "+" and "*" are used by Abap and converted to open SQL with "_" and "%" (ref)

Nevertheless check the report of SM37, AFAIK the parameter was somewhere converted in the code to allow job names with "_" and the like (somewhere before a SELECT ... WHERE ... LIKE) and is not handled by the program as a SELECT-OPTIONS for automatic conversion.

Hello kay.kanekowski

You could try writing an SQVI query using tables TBTCO, TBTCP, TBTCS - this way you should be able to control the selection criteria on your own.

Kind regards,

I guess no. An ABAPer could rather easily create an ABAP program which displays a list of jobs with your custom criteria, and branch to SM37 upon selection.

Thanks Sandra, but i'm only a poor lonesome DBA.

I only want to use the sm37. And i have to use it on systems on slient side, so no chance to modify or create my own sm37.
