When creating a PDF using a Crystal Reports subreport, garbled characters occur in the middle.

I'm having trouble figuring out the cause.

Please let me know if you know anything.

First, the development environment is as follows.

OS: Windows10 (64bit)

DB: Oracle 19c (64bit)

DB client: Oracle Client 19c (32bit)

Application execution environment: .Net Framework 4.8

Development language: Visual Basic 2019

Form development tool: SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio SP34 (32bit)

Report creation execution environment: SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio Runtime SP34 (32bit)

The form we are creating this time has multiple layouts within one form, so

I'm using Crystal Reports' subreport feature to output PDF.

I have data that outputs about 1000 pages within a subreport.

As a result of PDF output, the data is output correctly up to the middle, but

After a certain page, the output looks like garbled characters.

The process itself ended normally and no error was output.

We have confirmed that if it fits within 100 to 300 pages other than those listed above, it is output normally without any problems.

If the size of the data that is input to PDF exceeds a certain level,

It seemed that garbled characters were occurring, so I set the boundary where garbled characters occur.

As a result of our investigation, we have found the following information.

One record of input data is 256 bytes, with full digits filled in.

Page 523 was not garbled.

The number of records is 28765 and 7363840 bytes

The characters on page 524 are garbled.

The number of records is 28820 and 7377920 bytes

If you know the cause of this event, please let us know.

Also, since the error log is not output, I am not sure how to investigate.

I would appreciate any advice on how to investigate.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

Because your question is about the .NET SDK, I changed your tag to "SAP Crystal Reports, version for Visual Studio". The "SAP Crystal Reports" tag is for questions about general report design and the Crystal desktop software.

Confirmed by R&D, look for SP 35 due out next month or January for the fix in both CR and CR for VS.

Thank you for the test.

Since it's an issue in CR Designer also it could be your data is corrupt, can you do one more test and filter on that record, or a range of records around that place.

Set the record selection formula to catch that spot.

I'll ping the CR Designer guys at SAP, I'm retired now so I can't just walk over and ask... lol

They may need to report and I'll ask them to ping you to get the report with saved data, they are covered under an NDA, as long as it's not private/person data, otherwise they would have to replicate the report so having it without data may be a way

Thanks again

Don

Does it work in CR Designer?

Does any other format work?

The same problem occurs when previewing in CR Designer.

When outputting as a single item form, garbled characters will not occur.

I asked that you test using 64-bit (not 32-bit).

I built the app in 64bit and checked its operation, but the same problem occurred.

Please test to see if the problem is solved by building the app as 64-bit instead of 32-bit.

I built the app in 34 bit and verified its operation, but the same issue occurred.
