What versions of SQL Anywhere are supported by the Monitor?

What versions of SQL Anywhere target server software are supported by Version 16 of the SQL Anywhere Monitor?

The Version 12 Help topic says "SQL Anywhere 10.0.0, 10.0.1, 11.0.0, 11.0.1, 12.0.0, 12.0.1", but the Version 16 Help topic says "see a web page that has been moved to a page on sap.com that not only doesn't answer the question, it doesn't contain the word mo..." 🙂

The current "Online doc page Monitor" has revealed that you may relate to that other doc:

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-35934#Tools

That does refer to the SQL Anywhere monitor and the supported platforms. Unfortunately, it does not answer your question, either:(

Yeah, I saw that page too... the less said about it, the better 🙂

The interesting part about the V12 Help is that the Compiled HTML version says "SQL Anywhere 9.0.2, 10.0.0, 10.0.1, 11.0.0, 11.0.1, 12.0.0, 12.0.1" but the DCX version has dropped 9.0.2... true change, or political correctness?

I've tried to add a database running on ASA9 to the SA16 monitor, but the connection failed. So it looks like ASA9 isn't supported anymore.

It's probably moot, but what was the build of the ASA9 software? The original LogExpensiveQueries feature was introduced via EBF in 9.0.2.3124 and that's what laid the foundation for all the application profiling and TCPIP monitoring traffic. Some folks (i.e., me) liked LogExpensiveQueries better than application profiling 🙂

I guess I'm right that that still holds true:)

Actually, I remember liking it... I remember liking lots of things, like Turbo Pascal 🙂

Thanks for pointing this out. A note was added to the Components by Platforms Matrix for SQLA16 that specify the supported versions: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-35934#Tools.

To cite from that note w.r.t. the supported SQL Anywhere versions:

SQL Anywhere 11.0.0, 11.0.1, 12.0.0, 12.0.1, 16.0

So, apparently, the v16 monitor has dropped support for v10, compared to the v12 monitor...

It now matches Sybase Central: "The SQL Anywhere plug-in for Sybase Central fully supports any database created by version 11 or later software running on a version 11 or later server."
