What kind of delimiter(tab,CSV,Pipe) is in the Excel file ?

Hi,
I am always being given an Excel sheet saying that it is having data with Tab, or CSV or Pipe delimited format.
But when i open the sheet i could not find any Tab, or CSV(,) or Pipe Delimiters(||).
How can i figure out the data format in excel? I did  acopy paste into notepad but could only see tab spaces what's the process?

I googled it but no clear cut answer.

You can't figure out. People have to provide the format expected by your program.

I think there is a process like we should open the same file in Notepad & paste the contents..etc. I am missing something here
