What does Connection_ID -1 mean?

I have seen multiple examples of Connection_ID -1 in various monitoring tools.

What exactly does it mean?why is it negative?  and in which cases should we see that?

Just found my answer. Apparently, external transactions have Connection_ID -1.

Digged it out of "HANA Troubleshooting and Performance Analysis Guide" page 108
