What are the different components of the NetWeaver kernel version?

Hello,

I am trying to decipher the kernel version of the NetWeaver AS Java. To my understanding, this version number is the version of NetWeaver AS Java. From this information, I ma trying to extract the following (if possible):

• Major version
• Minor version
• Service Pack Stack version
• Patch level

The existing forum posts do not seem to address this and I cannot find anything in the official SAP documentation that explains this.

Thank you for your post. So, if, for example, I take the information given from the "Message Server" screen," the "kernel release" and "Release" would be the major and minor release number, the "source id" number would be the Support Pack Stack version and "patch number" would be the patch level version? Am I correct in my assumptions?

The SAP kernel has only "two numbers": release and patch level.
