hi kittu........

whenever you want to assign agents for a workitem, then you will be going for adhoc agents. So at runtime you will be asked for an agent to whom the next workitem should be sent. So this is the main purpose of adhoc agents. you can do this by clicking a step type and choose extras->adhoc agents. Then you just follow the wizard. thats it.

Hi Kittu,

I just used the ad-hoc agent function in my recent workflows, when you enable the ad-hoc agent assignment, in the task's 'Control' tab, under 'Agents', you'll see the Expression &Agent_0001.Agents&, if you want to limit the selection range, go to 'Agent Assignment for Task', where you can still put in your Org units, or Users, or Roles etc.

We want all users have a certain range of security roles to be in the ad-hoc selection list, so I added all the roles to the agent assignment. When you use the 'Find Agents', all users with the roles will appear for selection.

Hii Kittu,

You can define an ad hoc agent assignment for a workflow. This enables the user who starts the workflow to assign a recipient to all relevant steps at the start of execution. This user can also change the assignment of recipients for steps that have not yet been completed at any time during execution of the workflow.

For assigning ad-hoc agent, first of all delete the responsible agents(if any) in the respective step(to whom u r gonna assign ad-hoc agent) definition.

Path is Choose Extras --> Ad hoc functions ---> Enable ad hoc agent assignment

The system adds container elements required for the ad hoc agent assignment to the workflow container. An expression is assigned automatically to the input fields for the responsible agents of a step as well.

If you want to deactivate ad hoc agent assignment for particular steps, replace the expression for the responsible agents with an entry.

For more details, you can check and search for ad-hoc agents and get more documentation.

Also u can check these links....

Hope it helps you......
