Hello Colleagues!

When I try to clone a GIT repository in the Web IDE, I am receiving the following error message:

4:34:48 PM (git) Clone request sent

4:38:01 PM (git) Clone request failed https://i840577@git.wdf.sap.corp/z_i840577_fiori: cannot open git-upload-pack

The GIT repository was created via Project Portal.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Thanks and Regards,

Borin, Lucas

Hi Lucas,

There is now an integration between the project portal and Web-IDE.

Can you try of the clone link helps you?

Firas

Hi Firas,

This functionality works, but it opens other instance of WebIDE. It opens the "https://webide-sapwebide.dispatcher.neo.ondemand.com/" but i'm using the "https://webide-i840577trial.dispatcher.hanatrial.ondemand.com/".

To open the same version that i'm using, you need to open the WebIDE from the SAP HANA Cloud Platform:

The SAP WebIDE is an internal version for SAP employees, but the HANA Cloud Platform seems to be a version for customers. Is that right?

Thank You,

Borin Lucas

Hi Lucas,

Yes, you are right this is another landscape that is available only within SAP. This landscape is updated with the new version earlier than the trial landscape.

If your problem doesn't occur in the new instance then I believe it will be solved when the same version gets to the trial landscape.

Is it important to you to work on trial?

Firas

Hi Firas,

No, there is no problem regarding to the Web IDE landscape. I will inform the coach of UI5 course about this issue and ask he to use the internal version.

Thank you for the help,

Borin, Lucas

I had the uploadpack error, too on hanatrial, although it's the same webIde version as on neo.ondemand.com. 1.18.3

Were you working on a repository from the project portal? Where is your repository?

It's on the project portal.

The project portal is available only inside the SAP network. The trial version of Web-IDE cannot access the project portal. In order to be able to use the project portal, you can use Web-IDE on one of the internal landscapes. The neo.ondemand.com for example.

Hi,

The "Clone to SAP WebIDE" button is not working on git repositories which are working with GIT ON PREMISE.

You can use instead

the https URL with this format:

https://dXXXXXX@git.wdf.sap.corp/fnf/XXX/XXX/XXXXX.git

Regards,

Offer.

Hi Lucas,

I'm from the WebIDE team. I've cloned projects from the project portal before and it works. Can you supply more details?

Does this happen when you clone an application from any other source (e.g. github)?

Firas

Hello Firas!

This issue also happens when I clone a repository from the GitHub to WebIDE.

I added you to my project as a Project Team/Committers, so now you can clone the GIT repository. Please, try to clone it to your WebIDE and check if the same issue happens for you.

What kind of details do you want?

Thanks,

Borin, Lucas

Hi Lucas,

I cloned your repository and it works fine. Can you please tell me what version of WebIDE are you using? You can do that from Help->About.

On what landscape are you using WebIDE, can you copy and paste the URL?

Do you have your Git Settings set? To check please go to Tools->Preferences->Git Settings

Hi Firas,

  1. WebIDE Version: 1.10.2
  2. Landscape: https://webide-i840577trial.dispatcher.hanatrial.ondemand.com/
  3. Yes, my Git Settings are set correctly.

Thank You,

Borin, Lucas

Hi Lucas,

I've tried on the same landscape. I can clone a repository from github but not from the project portal. This may be an issue of permission. I'll check it. What is annoying is that you cannot even clone from github. Can we debug this issue on your computer? If yes please send me an email.

Thanks,

Firas
