VC 7.0 - Export to Excel file without the BI connection?

Hello everybody

First of all i want to thanks all the great contributions that were done on this forum, this greatly contributes to helping everybody to increase their knowledge and shows the strengh and will of the community.

Sorry for bring up this subject again to the forum, but i already lost some time digging on old posts but i cannot get to a conclusion.

My client need is to export to excel file from a table created with Visual Composer. We have Portal 7.0 with VC 7.0.16 and the connection to our BW (BEx) is not working properly.

What is my best option? :

1 - Reestablish the connection to BW and use the BI classes to export to Excel, pdf etc as stated in ["Exporting data from VC" |http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/Exportingdatafrom+VC]

2 - Develop all the content in BSP (but this way i loose all the advantages of VC) as in

3 - Maybe use a BAPI to receive the table and export the excel file like in ... [;

4 - Install VC 7.1 which i believe already brings the export to Excel natively in VC.

Hi

I think First option is better. If you are not very keen on Excel then there is even simpler option for PDF. Install PDF convertor on your machine & use print Command in your application. It will open print dialog box & you will able to convert it into PDF file.

You could also update your system to 7.0.1 SP5. This version include the export excel functionality to Visual Composer.
