Variance to previous year on a year-to-date line chart compares current month fully not partially

Hi Folks,

I got some revenue data on daily level that I show monthly aggregated in a line chart filtered on Year-to-date.

I enabled varance to see difference / Year-over-Year comparison. Working fine in general except for the current month.

There the variance is comparing to "complete month" of the previous year instead of the to-date time intervall of that month.  My expectation would be that when running story today the variance would compare 06/01/2025 ... 06/17/2025   to 06/01/2024 ... 06/17/2024 time intervals for the current month.

Do I do something wrong?

You did nothing wrong and your expectation is logical.

Unfortunately As per the Current Design for Previous Year, Previous Month, Previous Quarter it calculates the previous values for the specified drill level only. As your drill is month it takes full month.
