Using SNC on IBM i SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK 7.50

Hello,

to secure our SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK net communication, we want to use SNC. For that we must download the CommonCryptoLib.

On Windows we can use the environment variable SNC_LIB and set it to to that path of sapcrypto.dll.

On IBM i we use the ILE version (LIBSAPNRFC.SRVPGM), but on the SAP Download site of CommonCryptoLib there is only a PASE version available. Is the ILE version of LIBSAPNRFC is able to use the PASE version of the CommonCryptoLib? Or is there also a ILE version (*SRVPGM) available?

Hello Mr. Schatte,

there is no ILE CommonCryptoLib available and it is not planned by the department providing this library to support also an ILE version. We thought some time ago if it would be feasible to set up a prove of concept project to find out if it is in principle possible to use the PASE/AIX version of the CommonCryptoLib, but it was decided not to invest the effort until a real business case arise. This would not be a simple test, but a complete so called ILE-PASE bridge for the CommonCryptoLib must be developed. Sorry for the bad news. I will rise your request in the next team meetings, but even if we put this into our plan list it might take a long time until it might be available, even if the POC succeeds.
