Usage of the integrated ITS as a dispatcher in the DMZ

Hello community,

with the standalone ITS, it was possible, to have the ITS placed in the DMZ and the coupled ERP system in the intranet. This is not possible any more.
But what to do, if the ERp should remain in the backend. Is it possible, to position a Basis-Netweaver in the DMZ and configure it to act as a standalone ITS? I found no documentation or information.

The standard solution is to use SAP Web Dispatcher in the DMZ and connect it to the AS ABAP. The Internal ITS can't be decoupled as there is no AGATE and WGATE anymore.

But there is no change of the transport protocol as it is possible with decoupled AGate and WGate.

SAP Web Dispatcher supports 3 SSL modes: SSL termination, End-to-End SSL and SSL re-encrypting. I fail to see what was possible with the standalone ITS that isn't with SAP Web Dispatcher and the Internal ITS. See SAP Web Dispatcher and SSL - SAP Web Dispatcher - SAP Library for details.
