Urgent: RSPRECADMIN - technical name of the server (max. 10 characters)/

Hi SAP experts,

after upgrade from BW 3.1 to BI 7.0 we want use precalculation of workbooks

when I want create Precalculation Server setting in RSPRECADMIN, for technical name of the server is possible enter only 10 characters. But we have longer server name, because of concern internal rules.

How I can create precalculation server with longer technical name than 10 chars? Or is there any other solutions?

Hi Jan this is not possible. But you can enter an name like PROD_DBA if this is added the complete servername appears in the list. Due to the Database design, it is not possible to use longer names.

The entries are stored in table RSR_PREC_LOGSYS in Field PC is the real hostname of the server. this field can store 100 Chars.

I hope the normal setting is to 30 Char. In our system it is set to 30 Chars. please check again.
