I am planning to upgrade Crystal Reports 2016 and Crystal Server 2016 to 2020 on the same Windows server they are currently on. However, I don't want to lose my existing reports and schedules. If I download and install the 2020 versions of each software from SAP, will they recognize my existing reports and schedules and just automatically link to them without overwriting anything? Or do I need to uninstall CR 2016 and Crystal Server 2016 before upgrading? Have been researching the installation guides and knowledge base for hours, and can't seem to find this information.
Any assistance is appreciated!
Since you're doing an upgrade in-place, use the same database instance for your CMS database and everything should work OK with the caveat that 2016 is 32-bit and 2020 is 64-bit, so you'll need to install the 64-bit versions of the database drivers and, if you're using ODBC, create 64-bit ODBC DSNs with the same names as the corresponding 32-bit DSNs.

So am I to understand that any reports and schedules on the 2016 server will automatically be upgraded with the server upgrade?
We're getting ready to upgrade our 2016 server to 2020 and we have many reports on the system already.
