Updating SAP NW Java 7.01 to NW 7.40 SR1 on High Availaibility

Hello,

I have to upgrade SAP Netweaver Java system 7.01 to 7.40 SR1 using SUM.

Environnement is in Windows Cluster HA.

Regarding SUM Guide, I need to uninstall ERS on both nodes before downtime and them reinstall ERS after downtime.

Is it mandatory to do that?

When ugrading ABAP system (HA too) from ECC6 EhP4 (NW 7.01) to ECC6 EhP7, I did'nt have to do this and I didn't have any problem. System was ugraded well.

I recently followed this guide for an upgrade and there is nowhere mentioned in it.

But the upgrade was not on a setup like you have with separate ERS.

I would raise an OSS message and get this clarified.

Hello,

I'm talking about SUM 1.0 SP10 Update Guide for NW Java System.

I found this section in "Runing the Software Update Manager" -> Performing Actions Before the Beginning of the Downtime".I'm not sur I have to uninstall ERS before downtime.

In my configuration, I don't have separate ERS. I have two nodes, one with ASCS, CI and ERS and the other one with DI and ERS.
