please check in Configuration -> Cloud -> HTTPS proxy, whether there is a value stored that might be wrong. If so, then remove the proxy setting. We just learnt that this could cause this message to pop up as well, which is in that case a misleading one.

Make sure to use a supported JDK and browser and ensure to empty the browser cache completely when upgrading the Cloud Connector.

Unfortunately, this is not an error that I am aware of.
I recommend to create a support case at SAP support component BC-MID-SCC and attach the Cloud Connector DEBUG logs/traces with telling a timestamp of when you reproduced the issue. Furthermore, the request and response data which your browser sent would be very helpful. This can be recorded with the Developer Tools of your browser which are usually accessible via the browser's Tools menu.
