We want to implement gCTS for some of our developments where customizing plays an important role. Along the way I wondered why it is necessary to establish a connection to an external Server in order to manage the customizing objects. Isn't the only purpose of the Registry-Server to distribute the objects to the right repo? If so, shouldn't it be possible to just use the development system? I might not understand the gCTS-Registry-Server thing fully ...
