Unable to Retrieve Catalog Data Using Ariba APIs – Need Assistance with Catalog Content API Access

Hi Team,

I'm currently working on integrating SAP Ariba with our internal application and exploring available APIs to retrieve catalog data from our Ariba system. As part of this, I’ve reviewed the documentation related to the Catalog Content APIs, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to retrieve any catalog content or metadata successfully.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

• Followed the documentation for the Catalog Content API (Buyer).

• Ensured that the necessary API packages are enabled in our developer workspace.

• Verified the API credentials and connection to the Ariba realm are working fine.

• Attempted to retrieve catalog items using both GET /catalogs and GET /catalogs/{catalogId}/items endpoints, but either I receive empty responses or data which not related to catalog data.

Despite this, I’m not sure if:

• The catalog data is accessible via these APIs in our current Ariba configuration.

• There are any specific permissions or configurations required from the Ariba side to expose catalog content via APIs.

• There’s a different set of APIs or integration approach we need to follow.

Could you please help us understand:

1. Whether catalog data retrieval is supported via API in our current setup?

2. If yes, which exact API package and configuration we should be using?

3. Any prerequisites or steps we might be missing on the Ariba side?

Your support would be highly appreciated as this functionality is critical for our ongoing integration.
