Hi,
Has anyone out there managed to connect UME to Oracle Internet directory as its datasource for users?
Thanks
Paul

Dear Paul,
Hope you are doing good.
As per Note 983808 - Certified LDAP servers, this is supported.
You can find more info in:
SAP Library -> Identity Management ->UME Configuration ->Customizing a UME Data Source Configuration
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e5/618a3eacd49076e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
Review customizing datasource config files on
help.sap.comhttp://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e7/8f0440a832e369e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
In the above link, you can find the structure and few examples on the customizing the xml file. Which might provide you some enlightenment.
Thank you and have a nice day :).

Hi Hemath,
Many thanks for your reply. However, I read that note previously (and have again, thinking I was going mad ) and it appears that it is only supported for WebAS ABAP and not WebAS Java, which is slightly mad.... but after many years of working with SAP I've given up asking why :).
So I think it may work... but wondered if anyone has actually managed to get it to work?
Dear Paul,
Hope you are doing good.
Sorry I did not realise that it was standalone java.
As per the information provided by the SAP certification center: "The "Oracle Internet Directoy 9.2" product was certified in the past for the BC-LDAP-USR 6.1 interface scenario which was for the ABAP stack only. The product has never been certified for the Java stack (UME). The above mentioned certification has been terminated in the meanwhile so there is currently no certified Oracle LDAP directory product anymore."
The configuration, although not supported, should be technically possible. I have seen another customer using Oracle OID 10.1.2.2.0 which was able to use the .xml file for iplanet successfully. You can find the configuration files for iplanet using the Config Tool as described in the following documentation:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0f/bdd93f130f9115e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
To find the file, as per the mentioned documentation:
"
1.Start the Config Tool by executing <SAPJ2EEEngine_installation>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat.
2.Choose the symbol for Switch to configuration editor mode.
3.In the tree, navigate to cluster_data -> server -> persistent -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
4.To switch to edit mode, choose (Switch between view and edit mode).
5.In the tree, select the configuration file that you want to change and choose (Show the details of the selected node).
6.Choose Download and save the file to a local directory.
7.Edit the file locally.
"
Thank you and have a nice day :).
