Ultralite - is it going or staying

We use third party software to create apps for Android and iOS using the (SA 12) Ultralite db and (SA 16) Mobilink. The vendor THINKS SAP is going to drop Ultralite, hence, they don't want to spend the time updating their software to create 64-bit apps for Ultralite.

Is SAP going to drop, or continue Ultralite?

FWIW UltraLite is mentioned in the SAPStore entry for SQL Anywhere 17.

Also, it is hard to imagine SAP dropping UltraLite whilst pitching the IoT so hard... like it does.

FWIW, there's also a current SAP SQL Anywhere Road Map document available - requiring a SAP S-ID, AFAIK...

I can't tell whether that answers your question, but "IoT" and "SAP Mobile Platform integration" are mentioned there as goals, as well.

I am wondering what does the vendor plans to use instead of UL (we are talking about SA17, because SA12 is very-very old)?

There are no current plans to drop UltraLite. At a minimum, your vendor can be assured that SQL Anywhere 17 is supported through August 2022, and UltraLite is included in SQL Anywhere 17 (see the Supported Platforms document here or the SAP Product Availability Matrix here. Not sure if you need an SAP customer number for the latter).
