Dear experts,
With UI Adaptation and saved variants, how to control which variant is navigated to when the app with the variants is only a target mapping app (no tile)?
With S/4HANA 2023, SAP replaced two distinct apps Create Purchase Requisitions (F1643 - deprecated) and My Purchase Requisitions (F1639 - deprecated) with one unified Fiori app My Purchase Requisitions - New (F1639A).
My customer, before upgrading to 2023, had created several variants op each apps (F1643 and F1639) and maintained relevant Tiles and Target Mappings for each variants in a technical catalog and created business catalogs. So users, depending on their roles could nicely see and access their own tiles variants for the two apps from their Fiori Launchpad containing relevant adaptations...
Now with 2023, we need to recreate those variants on My Purchase Requisitions - New app (F1639A).
No problem, app is enabled for UI Adaptations. I click create item and make the adaptations required by the customer and save the different variants.
But... the app where adaptations are made and variants created for is not My Purchase Requisitions New (F1639A), it's another one My Purchase Requisitions F1643A. But this app is only a target mapping (no tile).
F1639A is the one with tile+taregt mapping, visible by users.
So, logically, I supposed I need to also create respective variants of this app, and maintain tile+target mapping in the technical catalog so users depending on their role, can see their respective tile variant. All good.
But then... how can I make sure that, when entering app variant A (based on F1639A) via tile variant A and they click on create for example, they system will target the correct variant A based on F1643A?
I found a lot of information about UI adaptations and variants (most very good from @Jocelyn_Dart or @Leslie_Castle ) but could not find much regarding this case when two apps are interlinked this way.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Krgds
