Try to change generated dynpro - changes do not apply

I have a dynpro that has been generated from a customizing view. It contains two long fields which I wanted to shorten visually. So I reduced the visible length and set the field to "scrollable". I did this hundreds of times before in other generated Dynpros.

In this case, the changes do not apply - the fields remain with their original length on the dynpro.

In a copied version of the dynpro, everything works out fine:

Is there maybe some cache I should clear?

Empty the screen buffer via the command field /$DYN (like we have /$SYNC for clearing all SAP buffers)

Try switching off the Modification Assistant if it is on.
