hi experts,

i have install ECC 6.0 with TREX, in order to use this trex in portal , what r the configuration i need to do to work with TREX .

i have all the docs how to install trex.

pls say on how we can use trex.

any guide on this issue.

Hello!

TREX installs more or less like a SAP-instance with the current versions of sapinst. What needs to be considered is the usage of TREX once it HAS been installed. During indexing TREX will grab all the CPU-power it can get hold of, so it's definitely not advisable to have it on the same box as the ERP-System unless you're using some kind of resource manager that limits the amount of CPU the TREX can grab or unless your indexing runs are so short and do not take place during business hours that you don't care.

Hi experts,

I have an urgent question:

We have a ECC6.0 system (on Linux64bit/Oracle).

We are installing Portal 7.0 (separate java stack instance)

For one of the scenario's (configuring who is who iView) we need to have also TREX.

We want to choose TREX 7.1.

My question now is: is it possible to install this TREX 7.1 on the same host where the ECC6.0 system is running ? So as a kind of add-in.

I don't clearly find the statement whether installing TREX is possible or not possible on the same host as the SAP system.
