Transport Model from Dev to Prod

Hi folks,

We have a connection name SAPFIN in Dev with Dev credentials in a model ZM. I am transporting this model to Production where same connection exists with Prod credentials.

My doubt is: when I am transporting only model (not connection) to prod will the Prod connection details be replaced with Dev ones or Prod credentials will remain same and my model will point to Prod connection automatically.

Hi Jain,

Best practice here is to create a connection in Dev and then transport the connection to Prod. In Prod you adjust the credentials, environment, etc. to match you Prod data source. When you build a model based on the connection in Dev and transport the model to Prod it will use this connection because it has the same ID as an object in your tenants. You don't transport the connection.
