Hi All,
We are working on Sap Bo 4.0 version .we created the webi report in English my user want to translate the same report in the french(Canada).By using the translation manager 4.0 we had converted only static data but we are not able convert Dynamic data in webi report .
kindly share your ideas how to reach this Requirement step by step.
Thanks in advance,
sac.
Hi Sachin,
If they want to translate the data this is an operation that needs to be done at database level
the name Universe Management Tool implies that you can only translate the names of the objects, the data itself are not part of the universe.
Thanks
Best regards,
Simone

Hi Simone caneparo,
Thanks for the reply.
We had not used universe, we have created Webi report by using Bex query. In translation manager we are facing problem to change dynamic text headings of a column. By using Getlocalized function we are able to change the static text but unable to change dynamic text of column headings. Please guide me to reslove the issue. Appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Zahid Yener,
Thanks for the reply. We had maintained description in the both language in english and french in Bw my user wanth both english and french report.I have few queries for you.Could you please provide the clarification.
1.If we change the OLAP Connections to FR and product locale and
preferred view locale to Francis, Francis (Canada) respectively. Will
the existing webi report appear to us in French language or do we have
to build a new webi report in french language again.
2.what will be the case with the existing webi report which is there in
English.
3.After changing the language to FR in OLAP connection,if we need to
build a new webi report in English using Bex query as source,do we have
to change the connection again to "EN".
4.If we have to see both the reports in English and French do we have
to changes the OLAP connection settings often.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Simone,
i have a similar situation and i understand your explenation. My question regards to the scheduling of an translated report.
We have several BW-User from several countries and we schedule some publication-object that burst the reports into sales orgs (based on webi-recipient-list).
But how can i schedule that publication object in the name of all the users to get several reports in its language that the users are assigned to in BW?
As a result based on my own tests, i only get reports in "Default Language" (the flag in TMT if no language is available)..
Can you give me a hint therefore??
Thanks alot,
Oliver
Hi Sachin,
Did you get any solution for your query (transalation of dynamic texts in reports like concatenated strings in as column titles etc)? If so, please share the same with me.
We are using TMT for translating from English to Japanese but couldn't succeed in our attempts. Is there anything to be tweaked in TMT to get successful translation of dynamic texts in reports.
Any pointers in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Regards
Vijay.
Hi VIJAY, this is very do-able in BI 4. there are three pieces to this (you could do what you ask in just step one however):
1. Bringing in Japanese or English data based on the users profile. You can do this in any of the BI tools via "Locales and Time Zones" setting under Preferences (set both the "Product Locale" and "Preferred Viewing Locale"). If you are using BICS keep the language in the connection string as NULL (no value) and the data pull will default to the preferences.
2. Showing Infoview in both languages. If you installed both language packs, the language preferences will handle this.
3. Finally if needed, you can also leverage the Translation Manager for any meta data (such as query description, folder etc). If you want in details mail at sachinreddy.tippani@gmail.com.
Thanks & Regads,
