Tracing Databases - How do you connect to them?

I've been masochistic enough to have another go at using Application Profiling and been following Breck's wonderful 50 step (slimmed down) idiot's guide. However having finally managed to get some tracing done, both into a another database or the same one I can't get at it to analyse it.

Whatever I try I get the message "A new local server cannot be started because you are running a client-only installation of SQL Anywhere" even though the db is running on an engine (dbsrv10/12) on the same machine as I am running Sybase Central on.

I get the same nonsense message if I try to save my tracing to an alg file!

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

UPDATE

It response to the questions below, the error came up on pushing the Open button on this dialog (whichever option was selected)

HOWEVER - the problem seems cured after a full restart of the machine. I seem to make progress now so long as I use the right click on the database name to start tracing rather than the menu option under Application Profiling.

Hopefully this may help someone in the future! Thanks to everyone for their help.

Hi - Thanks but I don't see how to get round the problem as I don't have "only Sybase Central" but the whole shooting match installed and running. Ie I'm doing this all on a machine configured as a network server with all tools installed.

Am I missing something obvious? (Always a distinct possibility!)

Have you tried to start the tracing db using dbeng10/12 ?

Thanks Martin starting the tracing db manually first rather than relying on the wizard certainly seems to be more reliable.
