Time Zone Adjustment for SAP Cloud ALM Operation Module Notifications

Hello everyone,

I am currently setting up the integration supervision and exception events in the operations module of SAP Cloud ALM. However, I've encountered an issue with the error notifications. When an error occurs and I receive a notification, it displays the time in UTC (for example, 2024-06-25 19:00 UTC (UTC time)), but my local time zone is Caracas(for example, 2024-06-25 15:00 UTC-04 (Caracas time)).

I have looked through the settings and documentation but haven't found an option to change this. Does anyone know if there's a way to configure the time zone of these notifications to reflect Caracas local time? This is crucial for proper synchronization and tracking of events within my team.

Any guidance or references to documentation that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

KBA 3337151 has the full details about this topic.

In short, timestamps are stored in the SAP Cloud ALM backend as "raw" UTC values.

Some data (and their timestamps) are considered relevant to the operation of SAP Cloud ALM itself, such as the time an alert was generated or an automatic e-mail notification sent. Those values are converted to the User's system time zone, and displayed in the web interfaces / e-mails.

Other data are considered service/system specific, and it has been decided to use "raw" UTC in the display of the timestamps. This is useful for Customers operating many services/systems across different time zones/locations. For example, it is useful for use cases Integration & Exception Monitoring and Business Process Monitoring. Those use cases involve several services/systems working in tandem as part of a larger process. How they integrate together is important. So if there is an error that may touch multiple services/systems (each possibly operating in different time zones), it is useful to have a "unified" way of looking at timestamps.

Currently SAP Cloud ALM offers no setting to "force" the conversion of these raw UTC values to the user's device time zone.

If you want to influence the direction of the development of SAP Cloud ALM, particularly in the context of this matter, I suggest you leverage the SAP Continuous Influence programs for SAP Cloud ALM: 3391676
