I read the following article.

https://support.sap.com/en/alm/sap-focused-run/expert-portal/aggregation-framework.html?anchorId=sec...

Where we see we can configure Very Short, short, medium, long and very long retention periods.

Then in System Monitoring application as an example, when expanding a metric and seeing graphical data represented in time, time is not represented the same way, it shows 1 hour, 2, hours, 6 hours etc.

Other apps are missing data retention time as well.

The retention time is the period that you allow the system to store data in SAP Focused Run.

As explained in https://support.sap.com/en/alm/sap-focused-run/expert-portal/aggregation-framework.html?anchorId=sec...

There are 5 retention levels available now, the new ones are “Very short” (default & maximum value 1 month) and “Very Long” (default & maximum value 75 month).

While in System Monitoring when checking metric values, you select a Timeframe to represent collected data.

Retention time is in charge to indicate for how long data will be stored, it is related to data aggregation and storing values.

Timeframe will decide the period to represent data for concrete metric, it is related to displaying data.
