The SAP GUI menu does not respond anymore.

My colleague has the following problem with his SAP GUI:
He can no longer click on any menu. For example, when he clicks on “Extras” in the menu bar, nothing happens.

However, when he uses the keyboard shortcut ALT+a, via his keyboard, the menu item opens:

Hello Peter, You can try a repair of the GUI by going to the SAP GUI "Options" menu "Restore and Cleanup" to see if this helps.

I must point out however that the 7.70 GUI has been out of support for more than a year now. Plan your GUI rollout to SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 as soon as possible.
