Hi All,

I'm using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio (SP38).
I'm experiencing an issue when previewing a report that contains a Microsoft Word OLE Object. The normal font appears bold.

Has anyone experienced the same problem?
Is there a solution to fix this?

Hello,

That's odd, would it be possible to get your Word Document and report for testing?

I'll send it off to R&D to see if they can duplicate the issue.

Also, what version of Windows are you using?

Note: you can't attach the report but you may be able to attach the Word document.

If you can send me a link to download the files from a share point.

I suspect there is some tag in the document that causes this to happen.

Thanks

Don

Hi Don,

I'm using Windows 10 22H2, but this issue also happen on Windows 11.

The steps are simple. I just create a blank document in Microsoft Word, type any random text, and then copy and paste all the selected text into Crystal Reports.

I'm using Crystal Reports 2020 SP3 Patch 3

Please find the sample Word and .RPT files in Mega Drive.

Don, perhaps this is not real bold font -- just the effect of rendering the text twice (with a slight shift).

You are correct Ido, it's not a bold font issue but a viewer issue, it just looks like it's bolding all text.

R&D response:

Yes it’s related to picture rendering in Winform Viewer, not a real bold font issue.

We might take a look in SP39 if there’s enough time…
