The HANA Express image in the Google Cloud Platform was removed, right?

Tutorial: https://developers.sap.com/tutorials/hxe-gcp-getting-started-launcher.html
--------------------------

I Can't find the Image of HANA Express in the Launcher of the Google Cloud Platform, as described in the tutorial. May be SAP is updating the Images with SP05? Would be great! Or SAP is removing the GCP Versions, because they offer a HANA Cloud Version ... Would be shocking.

Does anyone have more Information? I saw, that Azure is also affected

Any Ideas?

Regards,
Jörg

Yes the HANA express edition offerings in the hyperscalers have been removed. Tutorials are pending removal as well. HANA express is still offered as a binary installer, docker image, and VM. But if you want a cloud hosted version of HANA , we suggest the HANA Cloud which does have a free trial.

Thank you very much for the quick reply.

This is really bad news. I don't like the way SAP is forcing us into the cloud. The GCP and SAP CAL were wonderful offerings that helped the community. Why is it made more difficult if you just want to use SAP HANA occasionally? As a BW-Developer, I don't want to use SAP HANA Cloud.

You can still use HANA express in the cloud if you want. We just won’t supply all prebuilt images in all the partner stores any longer. But via the binary installer, docker image, or VM you can still deploy HANA express onto a hyperscaler. If you want “single click” managed deployment in the cloud then we recommend HANA Cloud. You mentioned BW development but HANA express can not be used as the DB under the BW solution anyway. I’m not sure I get the correlation there.
