Test Cases of Descoped Solution Processes in Cloud ALM

This post is about test preparation in Cloud ALM. This covers my questions and views/suggestions about test preparations

  • I am trying to find if there is a better way of dealing with test cases whose solution process is descoped from the project scope. I see no indication of such test cases in the test preparations application. In the case of a dynamic project scope, Is there a better way to deal with such scenarios rather than using the filter/search?

In my view, while descoping a process, changing the status of test cases to a new status  (something like "descoped") will give a chance to easily review such test cases. From the content and reusability perspective, I feel that process-oriented test case preparation will be better instead of project-oriented. This allows test cases to be used in multiple projects. Or, is it only me dreaming this to be as good as SolDoc 😃

Looking forward to your view on this.

Hello Sharath,

currently there is no indication of such test cases in Test Preparation app, however when you open the linked the process from the test case, you see whether it is scoped or not.

I would suggest using a tag in test cases, e.g 'Descoped', which can substitute additional status and help you to filter and find such test cases better.

Apart from that please take a look to the following roadmap item for SAP Cloud ALM - https://roadmaps.sap.com/board?PRODUCT=73554900100800002513&range=CURRENT-LAST#;INNO=F990450159E01EE...
It might be helpful to change the process in the test case in the future (as an example from descoped to a new one scoped and adjust).

Kind regards,
Mariia

Thank you Mariia, test case as an attachment to process makes it better. Happy to see it in the roadmap.
