SWPM 7.0X SP28 Issue (Linux)

When doing the system copy for a client, we've encountered error message "Parsing error in line 1, column:82, error text: Unterminated string"

Also when running a prerequisite check for a new system installation we get UnkownMessage ID

I've tested this on multiple servers with fresh downloads (SAPCAR and SWPM)

This is happening on Linux version of SWPM for NW 7.0x SP 28. Is anyone else getting this?

Hi Frane,

so you are using 70SWPM10SP28_4-20009701.sar?
In this case I would recommend opening an incident on BC-INS-SWPM.

Best regards,
Andreas

Are there any special characters in the DDIC password?
Are you using Windows 2016?
Which kernel is in use? Do you have SAP KERNEL 7.22 EXT 64-BIT UC ?

Cheers,
Andreas

Thank you for taking a look,

To answer your questions

  1. Environment is RHEL7
  2. Kernel is indeed SAP KERNEL 7.22 EXT 64-BIT UC
  3. And no, there are no special characters in DDIC password,

Additionally, this error appears just before the screen where SWPM should ask you for the DDIC password, so I haven't got the chance to enter it yet.

Do you happen to have any ideas what might cause the "UknownMessage ID" during prerequisite checks?

As this happens in the initial phase where we just enter the parameters, I suspect that there is something wrong with the current release of Linux SWPM for 7.0x.

One way to confirm my suspicion is to try an older release of SPWM

Is there any way to access an older SP of SWPM?
Unfortunately, I do not have access to download previous releases mentioned in sap note 1680045

Regards,

Frane.
