We have trying to find the feasibility of changing the source system of BW dev system
from ECC dev system to S/4 Quality system.
BW dev system system refresh was done in 2017 from production. Data quality is poor and there has been random adhoc data loads done by users, No process chain is actively scheduled in BW dev.
Now we have been asked to decommission BW QA. We should configure source system S/4 Quality as source system to BW dev and load recent 2 years data.
We are trying to check feasibility and a plan of action. Our BW dev is 7.5 version on MS SQL database.
Our BW QA and Prod are in 7.0 version on MS SQL.
1. Won't we have to delete all present data in SAP BW dev system? Last refresh was 2017 and we want to do 2023 and 2024 full loads of data after content deletion.
Is there a way to delete all content from all infoproviders at once? Is it necessary to delete?
2. Do we have to load individual data flows Master and transaction in BW for 2023 and 2024? or is there another way for data refresh - 2 specific years? (Dev and prod/QA version are different)

Request clarification before answering.
Wouldn't it be more efficient to just copy your production system to your dev system? It would have then recent data.

Hi Ratish
It is pretty easy to delete your transaction data from DSOs and Cubes using a process chain and the "Complete deletion of data target content" it will not take you long to get that going.
It is a bit harder with master data. Often you can just load on top of what you all ready have as it will overwrite. If you have master data reports as well you may have to delete master data but it depends on if e.g. your dev and prod customer and material numbers are the same or not. You need to delete master data when you have emptied the DSOs / cubes. Use the program RSDMDD_DELETE_BATCH to delete in back ground (Deleting Master Data at Single Record Level)
Depending on the number of objects you need to look into it will take 2-5 days for the clean up + time for reloads.
With kind regards
Kristian

because of the huge differences between these source-systems and possible overlapping number-ranges I strongly recommend deleting all the BW-objects and reload from scratch.
Depending on the technical- or business-connections between your BW-objects you have to delete and reload individual parts step by step for these two years.
