SUM Problems with Java Enterprise Portal Upgrade

I am trying to upgrade our Netweaver (Java only) stack from 7.0 to 7.3

using SUM. The kernel patch level is at 179. We have several Netweaver

instances running on one server (3 PI instances, and 3 EP instances).

I'm starting with our development enterprise portal server, and an error

occurs during the second step of "Specify Credentials". I correctly

supply the <sid>adm user name and password.

Afterwards, another screen, appears with a message stating the user

credentials for the listed instances do not match. After verifying that

the two match, I click the "Next" button, and the following screen is shown.

I did notice before clicking the "Next" button that the instance numbers

listed ( 1 and 0 - don't know that this matters) were not the instance

numbers to our development enterprise portal, but actually the instance

numbers to our Quality enterprise portal. The instances to our

development EP are 8 and 9.

These instances, as mentioned before, are on the same server.

Terry

Hi Terry,

Could you please check the following SAP notes -

1563660     "OS user password does not work, please reenter" or "FAIL:
Invalid Credentials" during EHPI / Upgrade
1565645     SAP composite note: sapcontrol

Please make sure that you have only the necessary profiles in the
profile directory and remove the unnecessary files.

Once you do all the changes, please restart the sapstartsrv service.

Also, check the permissions of the files in the kernel directory.

Regards,

Sriram B
