Standard Application Role "DW Viewer" and Data Access Permissions

Hi,

I have been looking at the Datasphere / Standard Application Roles, and it looks like

• DW Viewer - Can view objects in spaces of which they are a member and view data output by views that are exposed for consumption in these spaces.

This role has all the READ permissions. Could you please tell me how is it set up in the backend that it requires the Views to be exposed for consumption for the user to read the data, otherwise just having the design-time definition / metadata access? What does this flag actually do?

• A space is a secure area - space data cannot be accessed outside the space unless it is shared to another space or exposed for consumption.

Is it that the Granter user does not have the Access_Role to the view unless it's exposed? If so, then how does the DW Modeler role bypass this rule?
