SSO to be enabled while launching BW/4HANA cockpit from eclipse

Hello

We have BW/4HANA system where SSO works for SAP GUI.

SSO is not configured for BW/4HANA administrative cockpit.

BW team launches the BW/4HANA cockpit by right clicking in the eclipse and then login page appears to enter credentials . We want to mitigate this login page and enable SSO.

As BW/4HANA cockpit is embedded Fiori , Does the standard saml2 procedure helps here ? Or do we need to have any other steps from eclipse perspective ?

Can anyone suggest?

Hi

Check the FAQ note:

2918492 FAQ: BW/4HANA 2.0 Cockpit Setup

===================================================

  1. Configure single-sign-on so the launchpad can be started without entering user/password. This is especially needed if you open BW/4 Cockpit functionality from the BW modeling tools, because without single-sign-on each navigation from the modeling tools to the BW/4 Cockpit will show a logon screen. The logon credentials used in the modelling tools are not forwarded to the BW/4 Cockpit.
    • There are many options to implement SSO, it depends on the your business processes and IT setup. Best place to start is the documentation
    • You might wonder why transaction BW4WEB is able to launch a WebUI without a logon popup. SAPGUI supports a special short-lived one-time token that is used for this navigation from SAPGUI to the browser, but this mechanism does not work when navigating from the BW Modeling Tools. Background information about this technique can be found in note 612670.
