SQL Server Collation for SAP Data Services with Azure SQL Server Managed Instance

Hi Experts,

Want to know what would be the correct SQL Server Collation option for SAP Data Services (with SAP Information Platform Services) on Azure SQL Server Managed Instance. As per BODS installation guide we have to go with UTF8BIN for SQL server however this collation option is not available in Azure SQL Server Managed Instance.

Hello Amit Tewatia,

In General....

Repository database :

Ensure that your database server is configured to use Unicode character encoding (such as UTF-8)

I have done multiple installation with Collation SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_BIN2

For Azure...

2632805 - Can I use MSSQL Server on Azure (IaaS) for repository? - SAP Data Services 14.x

 
In PAM (Product Availability Matrix, p. 20) it is stated that MSSQL 
Server on Azure (IaaS) is only supported for source and target, not the 
repository.
SAP Product Management is looking into a possibility to certify MSSQL
Server on Azure (IaaS) as a database supported for repository.
As soon as it is certified, PAM document will updated to reflect the change.
