Sourcing/SLP- From Standalone to Integration Scenario/Suggestion

The issue for which I need expert suggestion is client implemented Ariba Sourcing standalone and is using it since 2 years. Down the line after 12 months they also implemented SLP standalone with migration from SIPM to SLP and its been 12 months everything is going great.

Now client is going for S4 hana implementation along Ariba integration. Now coming to the main point Ariba sourcing was implemented through Test Site realm and SLP was implemented through Dev Site realm and one production site for both modules. Now while doing integration what should be the strategy 1. how Ariba Dev(SLP) and Ariba Test(sourcing) will be integrated with SAP Dev server2. During training and UAT will client be using one instance for both modules if Yes how?3. or will be doing UAT for SLP from Ariba dev and for Sourcing from Ariba test ?4. What is best recommended solution for this.5. What if we can merge dev and test so that sourcing and slp are on one instance for uat and training?

Hello,

Your Sourcing is not integrated with S4, right? So I assume for any Organizational and/or Master data you basically maintain this data through Administration cockpit manual data Import/Export...

On the other hand, I assume SLP is integrated with S4, right? And you have bi-directional sync of Suppliers/Vendors...

Proposal would be to have one realm instance for Test with both Sourcing & SLP where SLP is of course integrated with S4. Ariba Test will connect with S4 Test. You will also also have one Prod with both Sourcing & SLP, where Prod will connect with S4 Prod.

Pls note, as a best practice, in the Sourcing event - latest at the award, you will basically invoke Supplier Request (basically start invitation process of the Supplier to register in the SLP module). This is why it should be integrated, because process is integrated.

UAT and training is done on Test.

You may continue using manual maintenance (in Administration cockpit) of e.g. Payment Terms, Regions, Commodities etc. As those are usually slow changing dimensions - but make sure coding corresponds to S4 corresponding data - in case any of these are used for SLP to S4 integration.

At latter stage you may enable in CIG one-way sync of PTs, POrgs, CoCodes etc. from S4 into SLP, so you always have updated values.

Hi Goran,

Neither Sourcing (Test Site) nor SLP (Dev Site) is integrated with ERP S4Hana.

""Proposal would be to have one realm instance for Test with both Sourcing & SLP where SLP is of course integrated with S4""

In response to your statement I have mentioned Both are on different Sites and are not integrated. I would request you please go through it again and suggest.

As I have already suggested. Sourcing and SLP are in fact part of the integrated business process. Migrate your development work on SLP to the same Test ream where you already have Souring, and then integrate with S4 Test. Sorry, but I see no use-case to have it on separated realms.

So the answer on 5. yes, merge is the best option.
