How can I sort items in input control in alphabetic order?

I need to select "all members" are the input control as the options are supposed to be updated quite frequently when needed.

Thanks a lot.

Hello sap.user0001.

Unfortunately there are no shot options available when it comes to input control. This is a limitations-

https://userapps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/en/2629045

What worked for me is, if I need to short alphabetically (acceding) on text, I select text / description and display them, If I need to short on key I select key as the first and default column and system auto short them. Key here is the first column in input control. System consider that column for auto short.

When you select all. System auto select all future new entries as well.

Don't forget to up-vote and accept, if it helped. 🙂

Thanks,

Vijayeta

Hi vijayeta.sharma,

By "text / description", do you mean to play with "ID" or "description" of "Edit Input Control" as shown in the figure?

If so, I cannot quite get the trick you suggested. I would be very much appreciated if I can be instructed and taught more precisely. Really thanks.

Based on your screenshot it seems like you are trying on Hierarchy. Shorting on filter do not work on hierarchies.

As mentioned in my previous post, shorting is not available out of the box. Workaround works on first column (flat structures only).

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks,

Vijayeta

OK, thanks for the answer. I do hope SAP can address this issue asap. After all, this is a rather straight-forward feature in the eyes of users that are expected to be delivered by default.
