Customer plan to implement the Solution Manager 7.1 powered by HANA instead of traditional database.

need to collect and share below information about Solman powered by HANA.

1. What is features for Solman powered by HANA

2. What are the main difference between HANA and traditinal database for Solution Manager

3. What are the factors need to concentrate for this implementation

4. what about sizing ?

5 media list and installation procedure and road map.

The main featured of SAP S/4HANA are:

• Reduced DB footprint – 1/10 because of simplified data model)
• 3-7 higher throughput
• Up to 1800x faster analytics
• 4x less processing steps
• No locking, no updates, parallelism for throughput
• Multitenancy
• Unlimited workload capacity
• Capable of running all kinds of the systems (ERP, BW, CRM, SCM, PLM) in one system – will be available as phased availability
• Fiori UI – responsive for any device
• Capable of processing all type of data: text, social, geographic, graph processing
• Deployments possible as (public/managed) cloud, on-premise
• Guided configuration – reinvented implementation guide (IMG)
• No anyDB approach any more, it only runs on HANA DB

Also to note it still requires a Java stack, which last I heard was not HANA functional and installs as a separate instance.

Anddddd SolMan 7.2 is going to be powered by HANA anyway, would be easier to support come upgrade time vs having to figure out how to convert your DB into HANA.

Hi,

Although SolMan 7.1 is supported on HANA, the support from SAP to it will end mid 2015...

The purpose of it was more like a proof of concept.

As Billy said, 7.2 will be powered by HANA and won't need a separate HANA license!
