SNOTE note implementation - Precedence of the validity of manual modifications.

Greetings Everyone,

I encountered an interesting condition system during the implementation of a note in the manual activities.

The note is as follows: 3294279 - FPZW/FPRW: Error during value adjustment of tax refund document.

In the manual activities, there is a "VALID FOR" and a "NOT VALID FOR" section. What happens if both sections contain valid entries for the affected system?

In such cases, which condition takes precedence? The "VALID FOR" or the "NOT VALID FOR"? What is the precedence?

Thank for the valuable answers!

In this circumstance, when both components are in your system (S4CORE and SAP_BASIS) with the component versions, and your system falls into the range of support packs levels for both, one VALID FOR and the other NOT VALID FOR, the NOT VALID FOR will take precedence. This is NOT an error in the Note's designation or validity levels. I've encountered this quite a lot (not with S4CORE, as we're on EhP8, but often between SAP_APPL and SAP_BASIS). It means the solution is only valid when both conditions are met: e.g. your S4CORE falls within the stated sp range and your SAP_BASIS does NOT fall within the stated sp range.

So, in this circumstance, the Note is not valid for your system.

If you have any doubt, simply download the Note with SNOTE and check it there. The SNOTE tool will tell you if it can be applied or not.

Cheers,
Matt

The question here concerns the manual activities. The software components mention only S4CORE and FI-CA (for the automatic activities), not SAP_BASIS. More importantly, the first version of S/4HANA was using SAP_BASIS 7.50 (maybe 7.50 SP02), so if you're right that would mean that the manual activities would NEVER apply at all!?
