Hi Experts,

i have installed NW 7.0 as abap on local workstation details are given below.

O.S :Windows server 2003 R2 64 bit. on Local Vmware

SAP:

Now after doing a lot of study on SNC Blogs and notes i am not able to decide wheather i can enable SNC for this local installation as well as in some blogs it is written that we require license for the SNC. Please guide me if i can enable snc for this system as well.

Also in Su01 user master record SNC tab is not visible.

Looking for Giants Reply and Tagging the Giants as well.

Thanks all of You in advance.

Hi Prashant,

SNC activation on a system is always free of charge and can be done without special licenses.

You also do not need an SAP SSO license as long as you:

- perform SAP to SAP RFC traffic encryption

- perform client traffic encryption (without SSO) using "SNC Client Encryption 2.0"(https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2440692 and https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2425150). But I doubt that an oldie 7.0 system is compatible to SNC Client Encryption 2.0.

The SNC tab in SU01 will be visible as soon as SNC is activated.

You will start to need an SAP SSO license as soon as you want to perform SSO from clients to server.

Cheers, Lutz

Hello Prashant,

I have a NetWeaver 7.0 based test system with SNC enabled.

It has SAP_BASIS 700 SP35.

I can see the "SNC" tab at SU01.

Have you tried configuring SNC? Are you seeing any issues / errors?

Regards,

Isaías

Hello Prashant,

That will happen if SNC is not configured properly.

We might be able to provide some help if you can provide the "dev_wXX" trace file of the first work process to fail during the startup.

Otherwise, what we can suggest is that you double check the SNC configuration and analyze the "dev_wXX" trace file for SNC related error messages, which would help you identify what needs to be fixed.

Regards,

Isaías
