Problem: We are using CR2008 (Version 12.3.601) for printing out Information from our ERP System. One customer has some Windows 7 Computers without internet connection and some Computers with Internet Connection. On the Computers with Internet, Crystal is starting normaly (we are Aware of the Little delay for running it the first time because of using the .net components). On those Computers without Internet, Crystal is using very much time until it startet (80 seconds), but only when startet the first time. If we leave our process running, the next time we use Crystal, it's starting normal (12sec) too.
If we do the same thing on computers with Internet Connection, first start Needs 15 sec and afterwards 12 secs.
With processmonitor and whireshark we see timed out Connections to the akamai network.
Question: Does Crystal Report needs a Internet Connection mandatory? Can this behavour be disabled?
We also think, that the problem could maybe caused by the virus scannner "Trend Micro Business Security Version 8.0". Do you have some experience in this direction?
We would very much appreciate some help and suggestions.
Thanks in advance, Regards
Markus
Hi,
You may try the following
Open Crystal Reports. Under the menu "Help", uncheck the option: "Check for Updates on Start Up".

Hi
It is just because your designer is trying to access internet in Start Page. You need to disable this strt page to increase the performance.
do the following :
You can change the registry value for HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software|Business Objects|Suite 12.0|Crystal Reports|StartPage can be set to No to prevent the Online Resources from displaying. Crystal Reports should not be running when you make the change.
