Hi All ,
Our project is facing a problem regarding the notification for skills update in ESS by employee.
When an employee on Portal in ESS make changes to his skills a message is displayed before clicking save button saying "Changes will be saved and your manager will be notified of the changes made ". The changes are saved
but we are not able to see any notification in manager's R/3 Inox. We have implemented the UWL for tasks and notifications on portal.Once we get the notification in R/3 we can try to get it in UWL , but right now it is not getting in R/3 itself.
Can anyone please help if any config / implementation/devlopment/check is required?
It will be of a great help . Thanks in advance

Hi Sudarshan,
When ever if you found that the workitem is not sent to the sap inbox, you have to check the task which is sending workitem to the inbox.
If the task is correct then check for the binding.
If the binding is perfect, then check the agent assignment is perfect
if the agent assignment is also correct then check the RFC.
If you have checked all these things you workitem will surely delivered to the inbox.
Thanks and Regards

Hi ,
Thanks for inputs , basically my problem is I am not able to figure out which Workflow is triggered . I am only able to see the message that also on portal that " Notification will be sent to manager" . Now which Workflow is triggered or if any exists for this purpose is not known to me . This message is standard too . The Portal team has done no customizations.
So , the problem is if it is saying notification will be sent then is there any WF in background , if yes then how to find out ?
Thanks in advance
Sudarshan
Please read my previous answer again.
After executing the functionality (and seeing the message) open transaction SWI1, and check if there are any new entries (=work items) that might look like a "skill update". From the work items you will be able to dig into the workflow (if there was one triggered).
Hi,
One of the first things you should check if a workflow started. You can check it by first doing a skills update, and then after that check with transaction SWI1 if any work items related to the skills update workflow appeared. If not, then you need to do some configurations to activate the workflow.
This is not much of a help, but at least a start...

Karri
