Hi Friends,
I'm facing a very peculiar issue in a customer system (S/4 HANA 1909). We've setup the standard PO workflow (no custom enhancements or exits), to be executed 'Always' as below.
However, when we create a PO, this workflow is never triggered. Now the surprising thing is, this used to work till a few weeks ago, but stopped working suddenly, and we're not able to figure out the cause.
Let me update on what all I've checked.
We're entirely clueless on where else to look into or debug to find out why it's working in one system but not in the other, with everything the same.
Can anyone help with any further pointers to check?

Hi,
If workflows work on quality and if you trigger the event manually you do get the workflow. Then I suggest to look in the customizing on release procedures for Po's. Maybe someone manually changed the classifications on dev and production to make it work.

Thanks rob.dielemans. We found the issue related to the release strategy. Not really the same as you suggested, though.
It seems someone activated the user exit M06E0004 in CMOD. But then deleted that CMOD project without 'Deactivating' it. That led to a stray and inconsistent EXIT_SAPLEBND_002.
This inconsistency caused the issue in Quality, as the TR was transported to it. Later in the Dev, for a different purpose (and without knowledge of this history), I had created another CMOD project for the same user exit. So in Dev system now it was consistent, and the WF events were working fine.
Had to raise an OSS ticket to SAP, to discover this fiasco. Finally... all is fine, and got a new learning!
Hi mithunkr_cbs
The sales order errors in SM58 should not have any impact on the event triggering for the PO workflow, but the entries should be checked and resolved.
After updating SAP_WFRT user, is the workflow triggered?
Anything recorded in SM58 for PO?
Anything in ST22?
Check if Note 2608323 applies
Kind regards, Bríd

Hi Brid,
Unfortunately updating the user SAP_WFRT didn't make any difference.
SM58 still has no PO related entries.
ST22, nothing related to the PO or workflow.
Nore 2608323 doesn['t really apply because we've only a single Unicode system and no mix.
So currently we're still at square one 😞
Thanks and Best Regards,
Mithun.
Hi Mithun Kumar,
Have you checked that SWU3 - configure RFCis checked?
Make sure that SAP_WFRT user is set up correctly with roles as per note 2568271
Are there entries stuck in SM58?
Kind regards, Bríd

Thank you, bridaine.nichonghaile , for the fast and accurate pointers to check.
SWU3 is alright. But I do see the authorization profile for this user SAP_WFRT is not generated.
And also in SM58, I see >300 entries, mostly from the sales transactions (not from PO), with red errors such as "Schnittstelle zur Klasse SD01 muss nachgeneriert werden". Any idea, how these might effect the event triggering for the PO workflow and what needs to be done for these cases?
