Service Cloud: Possible to convert a characteristic into a key figure in order to calculate?

Hello all, 

I want to convert a characteristic into a key figure in order to calculate with it. Is this possible or not?

My business scenario is: I want to check wheater the SLA of a ticket is fulfilled or not. Therefore I want to subtract the fields 'Initial Review due' with 'Initial Review completed'. If it is a positive value, it was fulfilled. If it is a negative value, it was not fulfilled (show it in red, if possible).

I currently dont see an option to convert the characteristic into key figure in order to calculate. 

But hopefully, I am wrong... 
Can anybody help?
