Sending email from process chain not working

Hello experts,

I have created a process chain and when the step fails i have created a message to send a email.But i donot receive the email when the step fails.Anythoughts why is it so.I have used the option create mesage by rightcliking on the process step.

I know i can call OS command and send a email using a ABAP program but i donot want to use it.

Hi Rao,

Before the system can send you mails, SMTP server settings needs to be maintained. Check in transaction SCOT if this has been done, else Basis should be able to help you to do that.

Usually Basis takes care of this, but you can refer to notes: 152474 and 99965 for some info.

Hi,

Select you message from process chain and right click then select maintain message, then It will take to new window there you need to select recipients list, enter recipients mailid and select they recipients type as internet address.

Hi Rao,

u need to have ur uname in the message sending list of the SAP. Talk to ur Basis or security guy to include ur uname in the list.
