Search help restrictions fields are disabled for input.

Hi All,

When creating a very simple search my restrictions fields are disable for input.

This is the search (SE11):

And this is how the restriction columns appear when calling the help as a matchcode (or when testing it in SE11)

Any ideas?

How is it possible that you are displaying the "restrictions" although the dialog type is "Display values immediately"? How do you call the search help? How did you link your screen fields to the search help?

Sandra: The search help is called in several places, including as a matchcode (F4) in a Selection screen parameter.

Don't check all the boxes in the definition.

• You have checked the “display only” box, uncheck it if you want user to be allowed to change received search criteria
• Did you also actually change the data element to use a different data element that the one of the selection method (view) if this is not the case uncheck this one too.

I agree concerning the data element. What is the "display only" box? Note that selecting all the checkboxes is not the issue.

"Display field in dialog box of an elementary search help If this flag is set, the search help parameter appears in the selection popup window for restricting values as a pure display field. The contents of the parameter inform the user about the restriction, but he cannot change it. This is advisable for example when the parameter is an import parameter or if it has a default value."
