Dear Team, We have a access request for SE16H in ECC production system. Please let us know if : -

1. Access to this transaction code can be provided in a production system ?

2. What are audit guidelines which need to be considered ?

3. Are there any change log \ logs which can be referenced to find the changes done by usage of SE16H.

Or

4. Have the requester to have a Z Custom Transaction Code created for activates which is planned to be performed in production system.

Thanks

Raj

Hi Raj,

1. Technically, yes, but do you want to provide end users with general data access tools in a productive system? Probably not, unless you're 100% sure the S_TABU_DIS & S_TABU_NAM authorizations are properly maintained and they only have access to the tables they need to see.

2. For this you'll have to contact your auditor, not us. Advice taken from a forum has no legal status.....

3. SE16H should never be used to change data in production systems. This is controlled by the S_DEVELOP object as far as I know (I do not have access to an S/4 system at the moment so I cannot check this) and the required change authorizations are considered to be very high risk.

4. This looks like the proper solution for table display access: create a parameter transaction on SE16H for each table to be viewed. If change access is required look at creating maintenance views in combination with parameter transactions on SM30.

Hope this helps,

Jurjen
